“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much”

~Helen Keller

At Nurture and Playology, we truly put the “team” in teamwork. Your child will receive a comprehensive team of therapists who thread together the goals of speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy in order to optimize time and to intensify results.

We believe that we can help you, as the caregiver, to continue to implement strategies at home. Nurture and Playology utilize a parent coaching model to encourage lasting results. A supportive environment is where the real learning happens.

Meet the Owners

It all began with two therapists and one big idea. Havilah and Allison crossed paths through work experiences and soon after a common goal to change the delivery of therapy was born. Years later, Playology and Nurture were formed as separate entities. Collaboration and kindness are guiding principles which fuel the decisions made by each business owner. Though Playology and Nurture are two separate entities, we understand that it takes a village, and we are very proud of the village that we have built.

  • Owner, Playology Pediatric Therapy

Havilah is a native to Northern Indiana. She has a background in mental health and worked in the social services profession prior to jumping into the occupational therapy career. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in Youth, Adult, and Family Services and Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Indiana University in Indianapolis. She has experience working with children of all abilities in the outpatient, acute, and school settings. After having a premature infant, she felt led to form Playology Pediatric Therapy to provide another access point for quality therapy services in Northern Indiana. Havilah utilizes a child led approach to empower and challenge the child to reach their goals.

She has received her Level 1 Certification in the Handwriting Without Tears approach, which teaches foundational handwriting skills to early childhood and elementary school students. She has completed the Foundational Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) training and certification which utilizes the polyvagal theory and promotes nervous system regulation through therapeutic listening and music. She is also a Dynamic Movement Intervention Therapy (DMI) Introductory Level A certified therapist, which is a therapeutic technique used to treat children with motor delays by improving automatic postural responses. Havilah is an avid reader and loves playing any and all sports. While not working, Havilah enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, two dogs, and one fish.
